When you consider the anatomy of the abdomen, it makes perfect sense that the skin and abdominal (six-pack) muscle will not recover to what they used to be after been stretched to the extent that comes along with having kids or gaining large amounts of weight. After the baby is out or the weight is lost, the stretched skin – which has lost its strength and elasticity – will generally not bounce back to its former state. The stubborn and loose central and lower abdominal skin and fat can only be improved in contour through an abdominoplasty.
