Abdominoplasty/Tummy Tuck

An abdominoplasty procedure not only improves the appearance of the abdomen but can reduce lower back pain and stress incontinence too.

Loose skin is one of the effects of losing a significant amount of weight. A tummy tuck or belt lipectomy will remove this excess skin.

During pregnancy, it’s not uncommon for the walls of the abdomen to weaken and separate, a concern that can be managed with a tummy tuck & muscle repair.

To perform a tummy tuck, a general anaesthetic is required. To complete the procedure, an incision is made from one side of the hip bone to the other, which helps to conceal any scarring after surgery.

Patients who would also like to elevate the outer hip and buttock tissueit from a belt lipectomy instead of traditional abdominoplasty. A belt lipectomy includes a tummy tuck but excess skin below the navel is addressed too.

Once the incisions have been closed, a compression garment is applied to the treated area. This not only reduces swelling, but also facilitates the healing process.

This procedure is performed under a general anaesthesia in an accredited hospital facility by a qualified Specialist Plastic Surgeon.

The outcomes shown are only relevant for this patient and do not necessarily reflect the results other patients may experience, as results may vary due to many factors including the individual’s genetics, diet and exercise.
